Help us Map Seattle’s Neighborhoods
Use the drawing tool below to outline the boundaries of the neighborhood you live, work, and play. Your input will help us better understand how people define Seattle’s neighborhoods.
Draw your boundary
Use your cursor on the map and click at each point on the map, drawing the area you want to name.
Submit your input
Once you draw your shape, take a screenshot of your map drawing, save the screenshot image, then upload the screenshot image below.
Name your neighborhood, and click submit!
Deadline to submit your neighborhood is Monday, September 1st, at 9pm.
Name that Neighborhood!
What are your neighborhood boundaries? Architecture practice House Cosmopolitan and Urban Planning and Design firm Smash the Box are aiming to gather that exact feedback. Using the City of Seattle’s City Clerk’s neighborhood map as a starting point, we want you to share your own personal boundaries of the neighborhood you live, work, and play.
With this information we are hoping to better inform the future of Seattle as it aims to become a “15-Minute City”: a place where all of your daily needs are within a 15 minute walk/bike/roll of where you are located.
In providing us feedback, there’s no wrong answer; all we ask is for the smallest and most specific definition of what you call your own quarter.
